Shoulder rehab and ski season countdown

Cass is officially in ski season countdown mode. He checks snow totals in Park City like it’s his job. I, on the other hand, am counting something different — shoulder exercises.

Motion Physical Therapy

I tore the labrum in my left shoulder earlier this year, so physical therapy has been part of my daily routine. I’ve been doing the exercises my therapist taught me while we’ve been in Mississippi, and the improvement has been huge. I’m finally able to lift my arm without wincing — and I can even reach the top shelf again, which feels like a small miracle.

Still, I’m ready to get back to my PT sessions in Park City and do a little more work before ski season kicks off. Not that I’ll be doing any mogul runs anytime soon — but I’d at least like to make it through a day of skiing without needing ice packs and ibuprofen.

For now, Cass is glued to the snow forecasts, and I’m sticking to my resistance bands. It’s all about preparation — his for the slopes, mine for surviving ski season without a sling.
